Today’s queer book review is for The Pairing by Casey McQuiston.
Genre: Romance
CWs: A whole lot of sex descriptions; a whole lot of alcohol descriptions; nose bleeds
Queer rep: White bisexual male MC, white bisexual nonbinary MC (who reads as being neurodivergent), and many queer side characters
Summary: Two bisexual exes—bartender and aspiring sommelier Theo and French pastry chef Kit—unexpectedly end up on the same European food and wine tour (a tour that they’d broken up just before embarking on four years prior). In an attempt to prove they’re over each other and survive three weeks in one another’s company, they agree to a European hookup competition. But it turns out that delectable food and wine, decadent art, and debaucherous sex with strangers aren’t the only things these two share a taste for.
